MONMOUTH – The Monmouth Museum has planned a friendly small-town celebration of the apple for Saturday, Sept. 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All museum buildings will be open to the public free of charge.
The Monmouth Museum AppleFest will offer free balloons, craft activities for children, raffles, door prizes – and, of course, apples.
Homemade apple pies and other apple goodies will be available for purchase and people will be able to buy apples from an antique farm wagon.
There will also be displays and demonstrations, plus a special exhibit honoring the 100th anniversary of Monmouth’s Fire Department. There will be information and historic photographs detailing the ravages of Monmouth’s many fires since 1841.
