SOUTH GLASTONBURY – Carlene (Gahagan) Houle Harris, 71, of South Glastonbury, Conn., loving wife of the late Charles Harris, entered into eternal life on Thursday, Sept. 23, at her home.

Born in Lewiston, a daughter of the late John B. and Carmen (Dackmine) Gahagan, she had resided in South Glastonbury, Conn., for the past 32 years.

Prior to her retirement she was employed for over 15 years by the former Har-Mons Inc., Hartford, Conn.

She was an avid painter who enjoyed painting pictures as well as being a member of the Glastonbury Art Guild.

Carlene is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lucy Houle, of East Hartford, Conn.; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Richard Wiken, of Sumner; two step-daughters and their husbands, Debarah and Roger Smith, of Cape Cod, Mass., and Linda and Brian Curtis, of Iowa; a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Donna Aube, of Lewiston; a sister, Nancy Gibson, of New Jersey; a special dear friend and companion, Joseph Toce, of South Glastonbury, Conn.; four grandchildren, Brigette Horn, and her husband, Josh, of Vernon, Conn., Nicole Houle, of East Hartford, Conn., Kimberly Wiken and Christian Wiken, both of Sumner; five step-grandchildren, Benjamin Harris and Tyler Harris, both of Hebron, Conn., Kerri Makulis, of Cape Cod, Mass., Jennifer Curtis and Charlene Curtis, both of Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
