Alfredo Amezaga came in as a pinch-runner for Guillen and scored easily from first base on Anderson’s hit. Chone Figgins’ RBI single later in the inning gave Anaheim a two-run edge.
Francisco Rodriguez (4-1) pitched two scoreless innings for the win, and Troy Percival worked the ninth for his 30th save. He has 30 or more in seven consecutive seasons.
Jermaine Dye hit a two-run shot for the Athletics, who won the series opener.

Pedro Feliz hit a tiebreaking grand slam with two outs in the eighth inning for his fourth hit, and the Giants helped their playoff chances Saturday with a 9-5 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
San Francisco moved within 1 games of the first-place Dodgers in the NL West and a half-game behind Chicago in the wild-card race. The Dodgers and Giants play four more times, including the final three games of the season next weekend at Dodger Stadium.

Brewers 8, Astros 0
MILWAUKEE – Wes Obermueller pitched a six-hitter for his first career shutout and Milwaukee damaged Houston’s playoff chances.
The Astros remained 21/2 games behind Chicago in the NL wild-card race, wasting a great opportunity to gain ground.

ATLANTA – Mike Hampton gave Atlanta another reason to celebrate, pitching seven scoreless innings on an ailing knee, and a homer by light-hitting Dewayne Wise in the seventh provided the only run in a victory over Florida.
Hampton (12-9) made his first start since Sept. 11, when he tore cartilage in his left knee while pitching against Montreal. The left-hander will need surgery to repair the damage, but he’s trying to make it through the season first.

Devil Rays 6, Blue Jays 5
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Geoff Blum gave the Tampa Bay Devil Rays a victory – with 39 minutes to spare.
Blum made up for a big error by hitting a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth inning, and Tampa Bay beat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-5 Saturday night.
With a 9:15 p.m. curfew imposed because of Hurricane Jeanne, both teams came out swinging in a game that lasted just 2 hours, 20 minutes and ended at 8:36. Hoping to beat the storm,
