PERU – Selectmen on Monday heard about progress on the town’s comprehensive plan.
Bill Hine, who serves on the comprehensive plan board, reserved the Rockemeka Grange Hall on Oct. 21 for a public forum on how Peru should plan for the future. Hine said he believes a plan will be ready for voters by the March town meeting.
Also on Monday, the board voted to install time clocks for town employees to document time worked. Although talk of time clocks has come up among board members in past years, the town has always used the honor system to figure employee hours.
The board thought it would be in the interest of both the town and its employees to have precise documentation of work hours in case of a dispute. Selectman Andy St. Pierre, who brought the motion to install the clocks, said they will be ready for use Nov. 1.
