BROOKS (AP) – A woman was fatally shot Wednesday night at a house on Route 139, police said.

The woman was shot in the chest at about 8 p.m., WGME-TV reported. Brooks is located in Waldo County about 10 miles from Belfast.

Police said they were questioning a young man in the shooting, but were not yet releasing the identity of the victim.
