The Oddfellow Theater in Buckfield will present its seventh annual Halloween production “The Hunchback of Buckfield, Maine” on eight Fridays and Saturdays in October, beginning Friday, Oct. 8.
In it, court jester Moto Hoonchbach has a fool for a client: himself. A local celebrity is missing and Moto Hoonchbach is the No. 1 suspect. It’s the trial of the century and the verdict is in your hands as you, the jury, decide his innocence or guilt.
This production’s new cast features Dan Allen, Amy Latham, George Dunn, Casey Turner and “Moto Hoonchbach.” The show is filled with comedy, mischief, mystery and a dance number or two. It’s “Perry Mason” meets “The Addams Family” or “Law & Order” without either the law and order.
Each year, the Oddfellow Theater creates a new Halloween production. These shows are family friendly with just enough spookiness to keep things interesting, according to a spokesman for the theater. Written and produced by the cast, these productions showcase cast member’s personalities and leave room for improvisation and surprises each night. Each show promises to be different from last one and the ending is in the audience’s hands.
All shows are at 7:30 p.m., doors open at 7. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $6 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at Northeast Bank in Buckfield, or call the box office, 336-3306; box office hours are Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. The theater is on Route 117.
