WATERVILLE – Ruth E. Jackson, 72, of Madison and Portland, went to be with her Lord on Sept. 30, in Waterville at Oak Grove Rehabilitation and Living Center, where she had recently moved.
Born in Kingfield on March 4, 1932, she grew up in Portland and attended schools in both areas. Ruth was the daughter of Erland and Mary (Philpot) Jackson.
Before losing her eyesight, Ruth loved to write letters and send cards to family and friends.
She was proud that she made the dean’s list at Northeastern Business School.
She lived at Somerset Residential Care in Madison for several years and attended Senior Citizens Group and the Calvary Pentecostal Church.
Ruth is survived by her sister, Erlane Dyke, and her husband, Wallace (Skip); two nieces, Roberta and Mary-Ann; two nephews, Richard and Robert; two step-nephews, William and Kelley; a step-niece, Lisa; and several great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ruth is predeceased by her sister, Alicia Wilson and her parents.
