The prisoners at the County Jail will have another vacation. They are not on a strike this time, however. How long their term of idleness will be no one knows at the present time. The cause of it is the assigning of the Standard Heel Company of which E. C. Horn of Portland is manager, to Alfred Childs, treasurer of the Standard Paper Box Company of Auburn. Hon. George C. Wing is the attorney for the assignee.
Just what the liabilities and assets are cannot be determined at this time as they are scattered considerably. It is understood that the figures are large. Mr. Childs is the heaviest creditor. The Standard Heel Company hires the work of the prisoners of Androscoggin County.

The raincoat worn by the pope on his visit to Boston was tailor-made in Biddeford. ALB Inc., a rubber and plastics firm that manufactures protective industrial and sports clothing, was commissioned to make a plastic raincoat.
The company was asked to make six sets of the rain gear, and the coats have been designed to allow spectators to see the papal robes. Company owner Al Bartoluci said he had hoped to have the rain gear returned to Biddeford after the pope’s visit so it could be donated to St. Joseph’s school and put on display.
