Geez, who would have predicted that members of the Bath Iron Works union preferred Sen. Kerry in the first debate? (Oct. 1).
Great scoop – union supports Democrat!
Given the fact that organized labor and the Democrats have been putting money in each other’s pockets for decades, is it really a surprise that these rank-and-file union members supported the candidate that their national office endorsed?
That result is as much of a surprise as going to a Ralph Nader rally and polling the members on whether they thought body hair makes a woman sexy.
Maybe next time the Sun Journal will go to a local bar and ask if the clientele are supporting the Red Sox or the Yankees in the playoffs. It must be difficult to ask such hard-hitting, unpredictable questions.
