I would like to ask all the Sun Journal readers to say a prayer for the people in Florida who have lost everything once again.
I have a 19-year-old who lives down there with her newborn, and things are hard right now for everyone. We, who don’t live down there, really don’t know just how hard it is. Up here in Maine, we seem to take things for granted. We wake up and fuss because our paper is not there on time, or we fuss because it’s too hot outside or too cold.
What I’m getting at is we all should thank God each day for what we have when many of the people in Florida don’t even have a place to call home now.
When my child called to let me know that she and my new grandchild were alive and OK, and she started telling what she lost and how the situation was around her, I started to cry because I felt so lucky that she could call to say she was OK.
There are so many down there that don’t have insurance and my child is one of them.
When people sit down tonight for a hot meal, please take time and say a prayer for the people in Florida.
