WINTHROP – The wedding of Joann Johnson and Eric Thomsen was held on July 10 in Winthrop.

The bride is the daughter of Judith Staples of Winthrop and the late Rudolph Staples. The bridegroom is the son of Bobbi and Charles Thomsen of East Orleans, Mass.

Lynda Nailor was the maid of honor and Eric Wright was the best man. Flower girls were daughters, Natalie and Samantha Thomsen, and the bride’s son, Junior Clement, was the ring bearer. The bride’ uncle, Joe Lewis of Hallowell, gave the bride in marriage. The wedding and reception was held in Winthrop.

Mrs. Thomsen is a 1983 graduate of Lewiston High School and a 1994 graduate of Mid-State College, where she received an associate degree in accounting. She is also a 1998 graduate of Andover College, where she received an associate degree in paralegal studies. She is self-employed at Little Giggles Childcare in Lisbon.

Mr. Thomsen is a 1977 graduate of Nauset Regional High School in Massachusetts and a 1998 graduate of Andover College, where he received an associate degree in paralegal studies. The bridegroom is employed as a corrections officer for the state of Maine.

The couple honeymooned in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, following the wedding.
