Each year, I receive a great number of calendars from various worthwhile organizations with a request for a donation. It is my hope that representatives of at least some of these organizations will read this letter and understand that a deluge of calendars is not very conducive to receiving donations.

How many calendars can a family use? Address labels, notepaper, greeting cards or even, perhaps, a key ring can be useful, and do not leave the recipient feeling money could have been better spent than on elaborate calendars, most of which cannot be used.

Many people have to curtail their donations because of a lack of money, and in determining which organization to give to, I think people probably wish to give to those who most prudently spend their funds. I know I do.
