LEWISTON – The Senior College “Food for Thought” luncheon lecture series on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at L-A College will feature Charles Plummer in a reenactment of poet Walt Whitman’s tribute to Abraham Lincoln.
Plummer, in the persona of Whitman, will recall memories and events leading to the assassination of the President by John Wilkes Booth. He will read Whitman’s famous poems about Lincoln and discuss their meaning.
Plummer is a noted Auburn Civil War historian and living history performer.
The program will be held in the function room at L-A College on Westminster Street. The cost, which includes lunch, is $5 with advance reservation, and $7 at the door. Door opens at 11:45 a.m. and the program will begin at noon. For reservation, call 753-6510 by Oct. 11.
