Men’s club supper
PHILLIPS – The Phillips Men’s Club will meet for supper at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Community House. The servers will be Team 2 – Capt. Corty Dill and Earl Berry, Wayne Knapp, Jim Carroll and Ray Ellis.
College workshop
WILTON – A free college-planning workshop is planned this week for adults considering going to college. It will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at the CareerCenter. The workshop is sponsored by the Maine Educational Opportunity Center, which offers support services to help students from low-income and working families enter college. All Opportunity Center services are free. People can call (800) 281-3703 to register.
G.I. Coffeehouse
FARMINGTON – A G.I. Coffeehouse will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, at Cherries coffeehouse next to the Narrow Gauge Cinema. This will be a chance for servicemen and women, and their families and friends to get together over coffee and treats for conversation in a relaxed setting, organizers said. Also, items are being collected at the coffeehouse to send to the troops in Iraq. Donations of items such as sunscreen, books, socks or candy will be accepted, but not chocolate.
