JAY – Police arrested a Greene man Sunday on a charge of operating under the influence after his vehicle was reported stolen from Ma Duck’s bar.

The truck was later found to have been involved in an accident with an estimated $13,000 damage to it.

Police found that the pickup truck belonging to Scott Barclay, 46, was in an accident on Hyde Road, Jay Police Chief Larry White Sr. said.

The vehicle had gone off the road after failing to negotiate a curve and struck some trees, White said.

Barclay was arrested on the OUI charge and summonsed for failure to give notice of an accident by quickest means, White said.

Officer Roderick Small had responded to a report of a possible stolen vehicle that had been called in from someone on a cell phone at Ma Duck’s about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, White said.

When Small arrived at the bar, and Barclay initially was not there, White said. After investigating, Small found the vehicle on Hyde Road. Barclay later returned to Ma Duck’s, White said.
