LIVERMORE FALLS – Police followed up on a complaint Sunday that juveniles were attempting to start a fire by the railroad tracks.

A caller reported that four juveniles were trying to set a fire, said Chief Ernest Steward Jr.

Since Livermore Falls police were tied up, he said, a Jay police officer responded to the site behind 102 Main St. Police found sparklers and a bottle, but no youngsters, Steward said.
