FARMINGTON – A rear-end crash on Route 4 near Holley Road at about 3 p.m. Tuesday damaged three vehicles.

Shannon Pierce, 26, of Canaan, was traveling south on Route 4 when he hit David McAllister’s stopped 1994 Mercury, sending McAllister’s car into the vehicle in front of him.

McAllister, of Norway, was stopped behind Justin Clark of Boothbay Harbor, who was waiting for a flagger at a road construction site to allow him to pass. The impact sent Clark’s 1990 Volvo station wagon about 50 feet forward.

Neither Clark nor McAllister was injured in the accident and there were no passengers involved.

Pierce was driving a Chevrolet Corsica. According to Andrew Hufnagel of the Farmington Police Department, Pierce wasn’t wearing a seat belt. Pierce complained of chest and neck pain and had some facial lacerations, said Hufnagel. Pierce was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Hufnagel said he would not issue any summonses.
