AUBURN – Although a news release announcing the visit of former Green Beret Jim Rassmann to Auburn said he would talk with military mothers in the kitchen of a local home, local Kerry campaign organizer Jesse Derris said the event was not closed to the public, as reported in a Sept. 29 news story and Sept. 30 column. While the public wasn’t specifically invited, anyone who showed up was free to participate, Derris said.
