LIVERMORE FALLS – The Town Office will close at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, so that most of the staff can attend training by the Maine Municipal Association. One clerk has medical leave.

Town Manager Alan Gove said the office will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Thursday, and all day Friday as usual, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The office will be closed Monday, Oct. 11, for Columbus Day.

Gove reminded residents that the Town Office is now on the main floor of the Municipal Building, the space formerly occupied by the District Court.

Parking is available in front of the Gazebo, behind the wall that separates Main Street from the parking lot. There is a doorway from the parking lot, which gives access to the front door of the office.

Gove also extended an invitation to residents to attend the Oct. 12 meeting of the Neighborhood Watch Group at 6 p.m. in the courtroom, when the effects of the proposed Palesky tax cap on town services will be discussed.

The Apple Pumpkin Festival will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, around the Gazebo. The Pulp and Paper Museum will be set up in the store owned by Pat and Wayne Knowlton at 4 Main St., next to the Municipal Building.
