PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – Portsmouth High School hosted the third show of the Maine Band Directors Association’s 21st marching band season on Oct. 2. The Seacoast Invitational saw 11 high school bands from Maine and New Hampshire take to the field to perform for evaluations.
Bands receiving overall ratings of one star were Edward Little, Lewiston, Sanford and Wells. Edward Little, Lewiston and Sanford received two stars for drum major. Lewiston and Wells also received two stars for general effect, and Edward Little received two stars for music.
Bands receiving overall ratings of two stars were Biddeford, Dover, Leavitt, Marshwood, Old Orchard Beach, Portsmouth and South Portland. Portsmouth and South Portland received three stars for drum major and percussion. Portsmouth High School also received three stars for music.
The next band show will be at Old Orchard Beach High School at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9.
