LEWISTON – Meg Coffin scored a hat trick to lead Bates College to a 4-1 victory over University of New England in women’s soccer Thursday.

Molly Wagner had three assists for the Bobcats.

Bates’ (5-2-1) Kim Alexander also scored on a pass from Becky Macdonald. Jessica Murphy netted the lone goal for UNE (4-4) on a feed from Courtney Guay.

Men’s soccer

Colby 2, UMF 1

WATERVILLE – Bobby Abendroth and Daniel Kiernan both scored a goal and had an assist to carry Colby to a 2-1 win against University of Maine Farmington in men’s soccer Thursday.

UMF’s (6-4) only goal was scored by Nate Ghelli on a pass from Rob Cloutier.

Brian Davidson made four saves for the Mules (3-2-2)
