How did President Bush know Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction? The old joke goes that his father showed him the receipts. It was the Reagan-Bush administrations that sold WMDS to Iraq. According to Republican administrations, Saddam might have been a despot, but he was our despot.

What country has the most WMDs? The United States. What good are WMDs against global terrorism? They are useless. The “war on terror” is an unconventional war. So why is the Bush administration developing new nuclear weapons? Why do we need to spend $800 billion on a new jet fighter? Why is Bush beating up on John Kerry for voting against weapons systems and intelligence systems that are useless against terrorists?

With Bush-Cheney in charge of the “war on terror,” the war is lost. Republicans still think that the way we “won” the Cold War is the way we will win the “war on terror.” They are wrong and misguided. The defense spending that Bush-Cheney have approved will only help out their supporters in the defense industry, cost the taxpayers billions and put our troops at risk.

Bush and Cheney have been a failure on every level. They have us involved in a no-win war in Afghanistan, Iraq and a never ending “war on terror.” They have mangled the economy with their economic policies. They intend to kill Medicare and Social Security. They intend to bring back the military draft.

Bush-Cheney? No more years.
