SOUTH PARIS – Grace E. Cummings, 93, died Friday, Oct. 1, at Market Square Health Care Center in South Paris, and had been a resident of the South Paris area for many years.
She was born in East Stoneham on July 13, 1911, a daughter of A. Leslie and Tena (Small) McAllister. She had graduated from Norway High School and Gorham Normal School.
Grace had been a member of the Second Congregational Church in Norway, a member of the Browning Reading Club, the Longfellow Garden Club, and the Victoria Society of Maine.
She was married in Norway, on Sept. 5, 1936, to the late Elliot S. Cummings, who died Jan. 5, 1978.
Survivors include a son, Edwin Cummings, of Richlandtown, Pa.; two daughters, Katherine (Kam) Cummings, of Sarasota, Fla., and Margaret Cummings, of Winchester, Va.; a nephew, the Rev.. Don McAllister, of Portland; eight grandchildren, Christine G. Coffin, of Concord, Mass., Charles H. Goodspeed IV, of Londonderry, N.H., Todd A. Cummings, of Center Valley, Pa., Jeffrey M. Cummings, of Quakertown, Pa., Andrew G. Cummings, of Philadelphia, Pa., Jennifer M. Cummings, of Boise, Idaho, Adam H. Cummings, of Vancouver, Wash., and Lindsay K. Cummings, of Huntington, Vt.; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
