I am supporting John Kerry for president. He is the man that will get us out of Iraq. He has the experience that is needed, having served his country in Vietnam. I also think he will be able to mend some fences with some of our former allies. We have been led into a war that, at present, seems hopeless. I agree that we need to support the Iraqis who want freedom, but at what cost.
We talk of homeland security, but how secure are we when our military and National Guard are all over the world. Who is left to keep us safe? I believe Kerry when he says he will get our men home soon.
Also, Kerry supports senior citizens with the hope of less expensive prescription drugs. He got quite a few points during the debate about Iraq, the loss of jobs in this country, the economy and health care for all.
President Bush keeps telling us that the economy is improving. How, when more and more businesses are closing, when people are having to give up their homes and see their children go hungry?
I believe Mr. Kerry will do whatever can be done to look out for all citizens, not just a privileged few.
I could go on. I am just an average citizen, living on an extremely low income, looking for a better life for all Americans. Mr. Kerry, I believe, will do his best to see that this happens.
