If you want to see the state in turmoil, vote yes on Question 1.
But is it worth it? We all want to have our taxes reduced, but the wholesale slashing of the property tax is not the way to go. It’s only common sense that rolling back taxes to the assessed property levels of 1996 would handcuff the state, and thousands of people would lose their jobs in the process.
Mrs. Palesky and her well financed in-state and out-of-state friends would like us to think that the system does not work and that they have the answer. But the system, as slow and as frustrating as it is, works. Let us not cut off our nose to spite our face.
Vote no on Question 1. Then let us work together to find the best solutions to reducing our taxes.
