I’m writing because after the first debate I’m convinced more than ever that we need John Kerry for president.

Reasons I won’t vote for President Bush:

• War in Iraq: The loss of our soldiers and the loss of thousands of men, women and children, innocent Iraqis. How do you free people by bombing the life out of them?

• His domestic policy: Outsourcing American jobs have put many into poverty and the repercussions on society are horrendous.

• Bush wants to privatize Social Security while Medicare has gone up 17 percent this year alone.

• The Patriot Act: Invasion of our privacy, no due process and you can’t speak out about the president’s policies without being called a traitor.

• The air we breathe, the water we drink and food we eat are at risk. He has no regard for the environment and his policies speak for themselves.

• The so-called tax break: Whatever people gained from the federal government is paid to the state government because the federal government has stopped funding valuable programs for education, afterschool programs, domestic abuse programs and many more. The state has had to make up for the shortfall by raising taxes and the towns up the property taxes.
