LEWISTON – Wilma Roy, 78, a longtime resident of Pleasant Street, Livermore Falls, passed away on Saturday evening, Oct. 9, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on Sept. 2, 1926 in Jay, the daughter of Willie F. and Emma (Lacroix) Deshaies.

She was a 1944 graduate of Jay High School.

She married Robert Roy of Jay on June 16, 1947 at St. Rose, of Lima Church in Jay.

She worked for many years as store manager of Ham’s Drug Store in Livermore Falls and also worked as a teacher aide in the Livermore Falls school system.

Since 1987, Wilma dedicated countless hours as manager of the Franklin Memorial Hospital Gift Shop. She was a communicant and choir member of St. Rose of Lima Church, a member of the Daughters of Isabella, and a member of the Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Wilma greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was especially proud of her home and beautiful flowers.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Roy and his wife, Brenda, of Cumming, Ga., and Thomas Roy and his wife, Deborah, of Gorham; five sisters, Pauline Richard and her, husband, Adrice, of Livermore Falls; Bernice DiSotto, Jeannie Bryant and her husband, Donald, Mary Ann Nelson and her husband, Richard, and Elaine Ouellette, all of Jay; a brother, Willie G. “Billy” Deshaies and his wife, Cheryl, also of Jay; three grandchildren, Christopher, Bethany and Mariel Emma Roy.
