RUMFORD – Gordon Michael Chaisson, 46, of Hartford Street, died unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 9.

He was born June 9, 1958, in Willimantic, Conn., a son of Roland J. and Virginia L. McAfee Chaisson.

He was educated in Willimantic, Conn., schools and attended Windham High School there.

In 1978, he founded the St. Michael’s Orthodox Old Catholic Church in Providence, R.I. He later moved his church to Tampa, Fla., and most recently to Rumford.

For many years he had been in management in the restaurant industry.

He loved helping those in need, and watching the New England Patriots.

He is survived by his mother, Virginia Chaisson; a sister, Kathryn Boiano and her husband, Paul, of Vernon, Conn.; two brothers, Gregory Chaisson and wife, Christine, of East Haven, Conn., and Patrick Chaisson of Sparta, Ill.; one niece, Janet Lemere and her husband, Roger; three nephews, Michael and David Boiano, and Gregory Chaisson; a great-nephew, Cody Lemere; a great-niece, Cori Lemere; aunts, uncles and many cousins.
