WILTON – The local CareerCenter will celebrate its fifth anniversary with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at the office at 865 Route 2 East. The public is invited to meet new staff and learn about their services.

CareerCenters, operated statewide, offer a variety of work-related services at no cost.

Other highlights of the anniversary celebration include a Youth Services Day from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13, with an informational meeting for parents and service providers about youth programs at the center from 11 to noon, and a youth resource fair from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

A job fair is scheduled 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20. Job seekers should take their resume to the fair, where they can meet with 18 employers who are currently hiring.

Business workshops and job seeker workshops to be held throughout the month.

A pre-Veterans Day celebration will be 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9. Veterans can meet a veteran’s employment representative and learn about services for veterans and employers.
