AUBURN – The East Wind Gospel Quartet will host its 12th annual music celebration at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, at the East Auburn Baptist Church, located on Turner Street and Route 4.

Special guests for the evening will be the LaClaire Family, known for their bluegrass and country gospel music.

The East Wind Quartet is known for its Southern gospel music. The East Wind has been ministering for the last 17 years, traveling throughout New England and into Canada.

The quartet ministers at churches, jails, nursing homes, homes for the elderly, senior citizens groups and campgrounds.

East Wind has won several awards over the years and has been to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., where they won first place in the traditional gospel group in 2001. In 2002 they won the most promising group of the year.

The quartet has again won first place in the gospel category with Down East Country Music/Gospel Association. This gives them the opportunity to return to Pigeon Forge in March to compete in the gospel category.

The East Wind has made seven recordings. In 2001 they won the gospel recording of the year for “On the Other Side of the Cross.” Their latest CD will be released later this fall. Everyone is welcome to the Music Celebration Concert. Admission is free but there will be a love offering taken. For more information, call 225-2475.
