BETHEL – A vegetarian cooking and health seminar will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Taste of Eden Bakery-Cafe on Main Street.
This four-week course will include presentations on nutrition, healthful lifestyle changes and demonstrations of vegetarian recipes with sampling of the finished product during each class.
The cost is $5 per night. Participants will learn how to prevent and reverse some conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity and adult-onset diabetes. People may obtain more information or pre-register by calling 824-8939.
Conservation discussion
BETHEL – The Mollyockett Chapter of Trout Unlimited will present a panel discussion titled “Conservation, Preservation and Protection of Maine Salmon and Trout Populations” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Gould Academy Science Building. Panelists will be Forrest Bonney, Maine state fisheries biologist; Charles Knox of the Androscoggin River Watershed Council; Bill Pierce of the Maine State Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife; and Jeff Varricchione of the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.
