MCKINNEY, Texas – Paul Paradis, 78, joined our heavenly Father on Thursday, Oct. 7, with loving family members at his side. He had been residing with his daughter, Anne Marie Knauf and her family in McKinney, Texas.

Born May 12, 1926, the son of Adelard and Marie Anne Paradis in Lewiston, and was educated in Lewiston schools. He served as a Marine in World War II, and retired in May of 1986 as an Army Reservist. He married his lifelong love, Geraldine G. Roy on Sept. 4, 1950.

Mr. Paradis was a member of Sacred Heart Church, and participated in many volunteer activities. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, loved ballroom dancing with his wife, made small crafts and painted many beautiful pictures. He was always young at heart, and loved sharing the many stories of his life with others. He was a loving, husband, father and grandfather and brother.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Roy Snow, Inc and worked as an electrician for many years.

He, lovingly known as pepere, was a warm, sweet, gentle man, who had a captivating laugh, a sunny personality and was a devout Catholic. He endeared all who had the fortune to meet and know him and has left many fond memories for all to cherish.

He is survived by one daughter, Anne Marie and her husband, Kyle Knauf, of McKinney, Texas; five sons, Paul E. and his wife, Pauline, of Durham, Dennis and his wife, Pam, of Lewiston, Charles, of Auburn, John and his wife, Tamela, of Sabattus, and Thomas and his wife, Melissa, of Staten Island, N.Y.; four sisters, Jeannette Bonenfant and husband, Marcel, of Florida, Alfreda Paradis, of Lewiston, Laurette Paradis, of Florida, and Georgette Sweat and husband, J.C., of Florida; three brothers, Wilfred and wife, Therese, of Lewiston, Gerard, of Florida, and Robert and wife, Marian, of Canada; several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Geraldine G. Paradis, a son, Daniel, daughter, Margo, and grandson, John David Paradis.
