BETHEL – The Bethel Outing Club’s 24th Annual Ski Sale will take place Friday, Oct. 29, and Saturday, Oct. 30. The sale will again be held at the Gould Academy Field House on Church Street in downtown Bethel. Sale hours are from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30.

Individuals and families can stock up on brand-new and used alpine, telemark, cross county and snowboard equipment and clothing in sizes for toddlers through adult. Boots, poles, bindings, boards and over 1,000 pairs of skis from more than a dozen ski shops and individuals will be on sale.

The club has also launched a Web site, www.bethelouting.org, that will soon offer instructions for individuals who want to sell their own equipment, and for ski shops participating in the sale. The site will have specific guidelines for consigned equipment – to discourage obsolete bindings and non-usable equipment, and to encourage pre-sale registration for sellers to avoid a tagging fee. Information about the club’s other activities, such as the annual Flying Moose Nordic ski race, club photos and an activities calendar, are being published on the site.

Proceeds of the sale will benefit area youth ski programs by providing skis, boots, and poles for elementary school students, funding middle and high school Nordic programs, and making grants to area skiers on state, regional or national cross country teams.

The purpose of the Bethel Outing Club is to promote nordic skiing and family-oriented outings with particular emphasis on youth ski programs. Vendor information may be obtained from Kirk Siegel.
