RUMFORD – James E. Hanson, 61, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 12, in Rumford. He was a resident of Coburn Avenue in Dixfield.

Born in Rumford, on March 27, 1943, a son of Ed and Julie (Dorion) Hanson. He was educated in the Rumford school system. He owned and operated Condor Corp. Trucking business and was in the trucking business for over 35 years.

“Jim” was a member and President of the Dixfield Lions’ Club. He was also a member of Maine Motor Transport Assoc., and the Mexico Congregational Church. He enjoyed his summers at Dummer’s Beach in Weld where he was well known for his “Jimmy Burgers.” He enjoyed antique cars, especially his 69 Cadoo. He enjoyed his family and his grandchildren and his loyal dog, “Max.”

He was married in Mexico, on July 27, 1974, to Donna Morse who survives of Dixfield; other survivors include four daughters, Laurie Hiscock and her husband, Steve, of Wilton, Linda Grove and her husband, Marcos, of Edgewood, Md., Leslie Miranda and her companion, Darren Smith, of East Dixfield, Heather Gray and her husband, Casey, of Dixfield; one son, Troy Hanson and his companion, Wendy Vachon, of Hollis; his mother, Julie Hanson, of Dixfield; four brothers, Peter Hanson and his wife, Marsha, of Poway, Calif., Michael and his wife, Becky, of Gettysburg, Pa., Dennis and his wife, Trisha, of Merrimac, N.H., and Jeffrey Hanson and his wife, Ronnie, of Dixfield; two sisters, Elaine Dickson and her husband, Thomas Jr., of Rumford Center, and Marlene Akhbari and her husband, Hamid, of Centerville, Ohio; his mother and father-in-law, Dorothy and William Morse Sr., of Mexico; 12 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
