PARIS – Town Manager Steve McAllister went on vacation Wednesday and has no plans of returning.

He sat in the audience for his last Paris Board of Selectmen meeting Tuesday night, helping newly appointed interim Town Manager Elisa Whiteley only as needed.

McAllister said his last day on the payroll will be Nov. 11, but he’s using up accrued vacation time.

“I’m still available to the board or any employee if they want,” he said at Tuesday’s meeting.

McAllister announced his resignation during an unannounced executive session at a Sept. 27 meeting. He said he will be leaving public service to open a restaurant and convenience store in Waterford. Applications for his position are being accepted until 4:30 p.m. Nov. 5.
