• Oct. 12, 7:58 a.m. – Jeannine Kneeland, 39, of Andover, suffered facial injuries after her car rolled over on Ellis River Road, also known as Route 5, when she attempted to avoid a moose. Kneeland’s 1990 Chevy four-door sustained an estimated $4,500 in damages.

• Oct. 11, 9:58 a.m. – Bethany McInnis, 27, of Auburn, collided with a Central Maine Power Co. utility pole on Route 120 after swerving to avoid a small animal in the road. Her 1992 Mazda four-door sustained an estimated $4,000 in damages; the pole sustained an estimated $1,500 in damages.

• Oct. 8 – Two Rumford youths aged 12 and 13 were referred to the Rumford Fire Department’s fire-starter program after an investigation allegedly revealed they had been starting leaves on fire on Virgin Street.

• Oct. 5, 5:35 p.m. – A Wyman Hill resident reported that he was the victim of identity theft, complaining that someone had used his identity and Social Security number to get a CitiBank Sears credit card. It is under investigation.

• Oct. 5 – Detective Lt. Wayne Gallant is investigating a referral from the district attorney’s office about the possible sexual abuse of a minor, involving a 13-year-old girl and a 41-year-old man.

• Oct. 5 – Gallant is also investigating another referral from the DA’s office about the possible sexual abuse of a minor, involving a 14-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man.

• Oct. 3, 7:26 p.m. – Corey R. Emerson, 21, of Bethel, was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence, after the car he was driving rolled over on Andover Road in Rumford Center. He was released on $700 unsecured bail and will be arraigned on Nov. 2 in Rumford District Court. Emerson’s car, a 1993 Ford two-door, sustained an estimated $6,000 in damages.

• Oct. 3, 9:30 p.m. – A Rumford resident reported that her daughter and a friend had been given a ride sometime between Oct. 2 and Oct. 3 by a man who exposed himself to them during the ride.

• Sept. 30 – Detective Sgt. Stacy Carter is investigating an alleged gross sexual assault that is said to have happened two months ago in Rumford.

• Sept. 30 – Gallant is investigating a forgery complaint.

Arrests

The following will be arraigned on Nov. 2 in Rumford District Court:

• Charles M. Garrett, 58, of Rumford, on a charge of violation of conditions of release, at 11:40 p.m. Oct. 9. He was taken to Oxford County jail in Paris.

• Steven Hentschel, 38, of Andover, on a Kennebec County warrant for failure to pay a fine, at 4:12 p.m. Oct. 8. He was also summonsed for operating after suspension and illegal possession of a usable amount of marijuana. He was released on $90 cash bail.

• Donn E. Dyer, 57, of Rumford, on a charge of violation of conditions of release, at 11:45 a.m. Oct. 4. He was taken to Oxford County jail.

• Kenneth Seavey, 36, of Rumford, on a charge of domestic assault, at 10:06 p.m. Oct. 1. He was released on $250 unsecured bail.

• Leslie Woods, 50, of Rumford, on a charge of domestic assault, on Sept. 30. He was released on $250 unsecured bail and was arraigned on Oct. 5 in Rumford District Court.

Summonses

Unless otherwise noted, all of the following are to be arraigned on Nov. 2 in Rumford District Court:

• Mark Costa, 43, of Andover, on a charge of civil possession of marijuana, on Oct. 7. He is to be arraigned on Dec. 7 in Rumford District Court.

• A 16-year-old Dixfield girl, on a charge of possession of tobacco products, on Oct 6.

• A 17-year-old Rumford boy, on a charge of illegal possession of liquor by a minor, at 10:20 p.m. Oct. 2.

• A 17-year-old Roxbury boy, on a charge of illegal transportation of liquor by a minor, after the car he was driving was stopped at a police roadblock at 9:30 p.m. on Route 120 on Oct. 2.

• A 17-year-old Rumford boy, on a charge of possession of tobacco by a minor, at Mountain Valley High School in Rumford on Oct. 1.

• Ryan P. Lowell, 25, of Jay, on charges of operating after suspension and failure to provide proof of insurance, on Canal Street on Sept. 30.
