We support the re-election of Rep. Elaine Makas to District 71 of the Maine Legislature. She’s been very committed in representing the citizens of Lewiston on elderly and health care issues. She is a strong supporter of education and is a professor at L-A College of USM. She’s worked to protect the Androscoggin River and the environment.

As a fellow season-ticket holder for the Lewiston Maineiacs, she sits with her 94-year-old mother in the first row directly behind the Maineiacs’ bench. After last season, she presented to each player and coach an attractive Legislative Sentiment for their contributions to the community.

She has been very supportive of the efforts of both the Franco-American Heritage Center at St. Mary’s and the Franco-American Heritage Collection at L-A College.

She is a true champion for Lewiston causes.
