I write to advise people not to vote for this tax cap.

Nobody has brought up the cost to the individual homeowner or the business or manufacturing plants. Insurances to the above people could easily double. Perhaps, as a tenant, you feel that does not concern you. Don’t believe for a moment that additional costs won’t be passed on to you.

Lewiston and Auburn fire and police are right now undermanned. Corporations and businesses are going to be hit hard on insurance that they may feel they can’t afford. They are in business to make a dollar. They will take action and could relocate. Maine, so our people tell us, has lost 18,000 manufacturing jobs. That is enough. No more.
