I am writing in response to the article headlined “While world mourns, Arabs accuse U.S. of spreading terror” (Sept. 12).
Now, this is true, but at the same time very untrue. It is said in this article that the world has become unsafe. And so it has, but what would have happened if we had not acted the way we did? Osama bin Laden would still be thinking up even more ways to embarrass the United States. We would have had a ticking time bomb. I say this statement because if we didn’t do anything, the terrorists would be planning and planning and planning.
They would wait until their plan is flawless, and they would think about hitting us where it hurts, again and again and again.
Now, I may be a kid but I know that we may have made sacrifices but this world will someday be in our hands, and would it rather have us than have terrorist attacks all the time? No, we need to look forward and not be looking over our shoulders all the time.
In this article, it was said that the United States does not want to criticize ourselves. Well, I think that this is true because how many times do you hear us saying, “Oh, sorry, we were wrong. We will be leaving now…”
Now, think about this, if we don’t have these policies in the Middle East, our nation would be in ruins.
