I want to let Mainers know that I’m going to vote in favor of the tax cap in November. It’s true that it’s going to hurt our cities’ and towns’ services, and jobs are going to be threatened, maybe even lost.

Our property taxes are too high and most ordinary middle-class workers are going to lose their ability to own homes. There are too many out-of-staters moving in and acquiring our properties.

It seems like it is human nature’s way that most people, especially responsible representatives, wait too long to do the loving thing to fulfill the needs of the common good.

Wait until trash isn’t collected or police and firemen services are diminished or libraries closed, then a lot of people are going to contact their representatives and raise hell.

Then and only then will the people that can make a difference start to do something about our problems.

I’ve had the experience in my past to complain about something and be frustrated and no results, but if thousands of people complain then people are heard and results happen.

There’s plenty of money and resources out there, and it must be used wisely and according to our means.

The solution is not to tax the common homeowner to death.
