OXFORD – Members of the Oxford Hills AARP group, and their families and friends, are participating in a bus trip to Portland on Friday, Dec. 17, to see “The Magic of Christmas” at Portland’s Merrill Auditorium.

The musical performance by the Portland Symphony Orchestra includes a full chorus, soloists, and the Grande Kotzchmer Organ. The bus will leave the old Ames plaza at 8:30 a.m. to allow time for shopping at the Maine Mall and the Christmas Tree Shop, and time for lunch.

Participants will be picked up in time to go to the 2 p.m. performance at the auditorium and return home at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $58 per person, which includes bus transportation and the show.

People are asked to call Wally or Henrietta Taft to put their names on the list. Interested people should send a deposit of $30 to reserve seats to Walter Taft, 1024 Gore Road, Otisfield, ME 04270. The remaining $28 is due Nov. 10, as the ticket money must be paid to the auditorium at that time.
