NORWAY – October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and to celebrate its new Women’s Imaging Center, Stephens Memorial Hospital will host an open house from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21.

The center offers a private setting where women may receive state-of-the-art breast imaging services from clinicians trained in mammography and breast care.

Bone density screening for osteoporosis and similar conditions is available, as well as a full complement of women’s ultrasound services.

Clinical staff will be on hand to answer questions and advise people on women’s health issues such as mammograms, bone density, breast cancer support services and specialized fittings. There will also be refreshments and give-aways for all attendees.

Stephens Memorial Hospital encourages people of all ages and both genders to attend this event and to bring along someone they care about. It is just as important for men to be knowledgeable on these health issues for the sake of themselves, their mothers, wives, sisters, daughters and other loved ones. Stephens Memorial Hospital is an affiliate of Western Maine Health, which is part of the MaineHealth family. Visit Western Maine Health on the Internet at www.wmhcc.org.
