LEWISTON – The artwork of mother and daughter Annette Lavallee and Neiley Harris will be featured during October by the Woman’s Hospital Association of Central Maine Medical Center.

Mother (Annette) and daughter (Neiley) have more than 40 years of combined experience, including everything from fine art to commercial advertising design to teaching.

Lavallee has become known by her quilt portraits and works from her home in Auburn. Her most recent paintings are acrylics and watercolors. Her commercial work include the cover of Johnny’s Seed Catalog and labels for Payne’s products. This year Lavallee will work on a new series of quilt paintings.

When she isn’t painting she is usually working on one of many handmade quilts. Lavallee has passed on her love for painting to her daughter, Neiley, who prefers to paint rather than quilt.

Harris has been giving private lessons for years and has recently moved to Monmouth. Her work includes a Maine State Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Print, labels for Payne’s products and commissioned portraits.

This year she plans to teach in her new studio and to continue to paint for the sidewalk shows that she attends with her mother.

For more information, call Lavallee at 782-2555 or Harris at 933-4166 or e-mail Harris 427@ msn.com.

The association is an organization that supports Central Maine Medical Center and its patients by promoting the health and welfare of the community and raising money to fund special projects. If interested in membership or the monthly artist showings, call the WHA at 795-2295.
