FARMINGTON – Two witnesses reported seeing a person damage the receiver of a pay telephone at the Irving station on Main Street about 4 p.m. Saturday. Police attempted to find the person, who was described as wearing a red shirt and black hat and carrying a backpack.
The vandal’s gender was unknown.
A car parked in the Hannaford parking lot was reported scratched by a key the previous day about 5 p.m. The vehicle’s owner, an employee at the store, discovered the damage when leaving work. Police did not provide an estimate of the cost of the damage. Surveillance tapes may be used to investigate the case, according to a Farmington police report.
