PERU – Oxford County police issued a lost child alert Tuesday morning after a Peru family reported that their teenager was missing.

According to the alert, 17-year-old Tyler D. Boothby failed to return to his parents’ home at 789 Greenwoods Road on Friday night.

At 10 a.m. Tuesday, an Oxford County dispatcher alerted police statewide that Boothby was possibly heading to a girlfriend’s place in Wells or to relatives in the Canton area.

Boothby, who has brown hair and brown eyes, weighs 140 pounds and is 5 feet, 8 inches tall. At the time of his disappearance, the dispatcher said Boothby was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, white cargo pants and white sneakers.

At 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oxford County Deputy Justin Brown said that Boothby had not yet been found.
