TOPSHAM – Irene Rodrigue Cote, 83, of 25 Lady Slipper Lane, Topsham, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2004, with family by her side. A lifelong resident of Lewiston, but made her home for the past two years with her son, Dan and his wife, Marian, in Topsham.

Born in Lewiston, Jan. 5, 1921, she was the daughter of William and Alice Lemieux Rodrigue. She was a graduate of Lewiston High School Class of 1940.

On July 6, 1942, she married Paul E. Cote and had 55 years of a loving marriage until his death in 1998. She loved knitting, reading, and baking and all visitors were given a baked good to take home. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include four sons, Rev. Paul E. Cote, of Portland, Daniel and wife, Marian Cote, of Topsham, Ronald Cote, of Lakeville, Mass., and Robert and wife, Mary Cote, of Windham; two daughters, Kathleen and husband, Ronald Jacques, of Lewiston, and Claudeen and husband, Claude Bergeron, of Lewiston; 14 grandchildren, David, Stephen, and Ryan Cote, Bret, Chad and Alicia Cote, Matthew and Kristin Jacques, Amanda, Benjamin, Julia, and Audrey Bergeron, Amanda and Kelly Maloney; four greatgrandchildren, Nathan and Kiersten Cote, Emily Rogan and Olivia Cooper.

She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, two brothers, Rosario and Ernest Rodrigue.
