On Nov. 2, Lewiston voters in District 71 will have an opportunity to elect Bob Macdonald as our state representative. Macdonald served with the Lewiston Police Department for 23 years. Bob was former detective who worked with juveniles, including the Officer Friendly program. I have known Bob Macdonald for over 16 years, and he has served his city with integrity.

There is no more important issue the Legislature needs to address than property tax reform. Spending at the State House is out of control and it is vital this year that we elect a representative who will be part of the solution instead of the problem. Macdonald will be fiscally responsible, as he understands what impact out of control property taxes has on working families and senior citizens.

I will be voting for Bob Macdonald on Nov. 2, as we need effective leadership in Augusta.
