I first met Terry Hayes in 1989. She had just moved to Buckfield with her young family and was working as a writer for the Lewiston Sun and getting to know her community. I was immediately impressed by her intelligence and energy, her enthusiasm, her sense of humor and her ability to relate to others.
A lifelong Maine resident and a government major at Bowdoin, Terry has committed her entire adult life to making state and local governments more responsible and effective. A tireless volunteer in our schools and community and an advocate for children in Oxford County, she has clearly demonstrated her ability to bring people together to find solutions to the difficulties that we face in the state today.
I know no one whose personal qualities and experience make her more suited for the job of representing District 94 in Augusta.
