LEWISTON – Adrien Poissonnier, 77, of 5 Lincoln Drive died Sunday evening, Oct. 24, at his home with his family at his side.

He was born in Madawaska, Jan. 8, 1927, one of 16 children born to Ernest and Alma (St.Amand) Poissonnier and was a resident of this community most of his life.

He was married in 1950 to the former Evelyn Grenier who passed away Jan. 8, 1998. Mr. Poissonnier worked many years at the Bates Mill and at the Hill Mill until his retirement.

He was a former member of St. Mary’s Church and was also a member of the 20M Club. Among his favorite enjoyments were spending time with his grandsons and woodworking in his woodshop. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He leaves a daughter, Rachel Turcotte and her husband, Marc, of Auburn; a son, Richard and his wife, Linda, of Lewiston; two grandsons, Michael Poissonnier and Steven Turcotte, and Steven’s fiancee, Heather Morin; five sisters, Albertine Pelletier, of Lewiston, Delia Bourgoin, of Madawaska, Bernice Robbins, of Oxford, Rita Seguin, of Bingham, and Adeline Cummings, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.

He was predeceased by seven sisters, and three brothers.
