HUDSON, N.H. (AP) – The town moderator is asking residents to remember the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan by voting and bringing goods to the polls that can be shipped overseas.
Vietnam veteran Michael Keenan is helping organize a community-wide effort called “Support the Troops by Voting.” He is encouraging residents to vote and donate nonperishable items or give money to ship them overseas.
Keenan said that voting is a way to show gratitude to the troops.
The program is not pushing any specific candidates.
They are collecting items such as razors and soaps, canned foods and books and magazines.
